Alpine Zoo
The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a rehabilitation facility offering injured, orphaned and imprinted wild animals a safe haven; temporarily while they heal or permanently as they are unable to survive on their own. We are extremely proud that the vast majority of animals brought to us for rehabilitation are successfully released back into their native environment. Those that remain with us on exhibit are either too injured or have been imprinted by humans and cannot be released back into the wild to care for themselves.

Alpine Slide
The Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain Recreation Area in Big Bear Lake, home of the world-famous Alpine Slide, offers family fun activities year round. In the summer there is a cool water slide and in the winter there is plenty of fun snow play. The Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is home to Southern California’s only authentic bobsled experience. Begin with a scenic chairlift ride to the top. From there, riders navigate their own individually controlled sleds, each with Teflon runners and ball bearing wheels, down their choice of two quarter-mile long cement tracks filled with high-banked turns and long straightaways.
The new Mineshaft Coaster opened in 2020 and is the first and only Mountain Coaster in California! Ride alone or with a passenger, as you control your speed through hairpin turns, dips, tunnels, bridges, and 360-degree corkscrews along the mountainside on a mile long track.
